Scope of Research:

  • Participation in the evaluation of materials used in low temperature fluidized bed and high temperature black liquor gasification systems.
  • Participation in the development of new refractory containment materials for high temperature black liquor gasification systems.
  • Studies of residual stress and texture in metals and ceramics by means of neutron and x-ray diffraction.

Broad Fields of Endeavor:

  • Neutron and X-ray diffraction techniques, phase transformations, crystal structure, preferred orientation, and material evaluation and development of black liquor gasification.
