  • 7/2003: Visiting scientist, Materials Department, Risø National Laboratory, Roskilde, Denmark.  Electron microscopy of neutron irradiated Fe after tensile deformation.
  • 7/91 – 4/92: Visiting scientist, Solid State Physics Division, Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany.  Designed and built a target chamber for making in-situ electrical conductivity measurements on ceramic insulators during energetic ion irradiation
  • 10/91: Visiting scientist, Prometey Central Research Institute for Structural Materials and Efremov Institute, St. Petersburg, Russia.  Electron microscopy of ion irradiated high strength copper alloys.
  • 4/91 – 7/91: Visiting scientist, Materials Department, Risø National Laboratory, Roskilde, Denmark.  Electron microscopy of Cu alloys irradiated with 750 MeV protons and fission neutrons.
  • 6/81 – 9/81 & 6/80-9/80: Student researcher, E Division (Physics), Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.  Measurement of charged particle production cross sections of high energy neutrons; 14 MeV neutron irradiation experiment on Cu alloys (electrical resistivity, microstructure).
