Information Technology Services (IT)

The Information Technology Services (IT) Division is responsible for delivering ORNL's computing, networking and information infrastructure and for providing IT services and support to the Laboratory.

The main mission of the IT division is to provide effective and efficient IT infrastructure and services that underpin the Laboratory's R&D missions and environment, including the support of the business and administration functions. The division works with the ORNL Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and other ORNL divisions to ensure implementation of information technology and information services is provided in compliance with federal law and with the Department of Energy and UT-Battelle requirements.

The ITSD has a division-wide commitment to a diverse work force, equal employment opportunities, and leadership and adherence to the Laboratory's environmental, health, and safety policies.

Division staff will now need to submit a service request to F&O for Ron’s help (software, computer hardware/printer issues).

Per John Bui in F&O, the work order needs to be in place before Ron begins any work.

Below are instructions and screen shots that John Bui sent to help you input the work orders.

Tom Engert nor Tim Jerome needs a work order since they are in the IT organization (they cannot work on computer hardware/printer problems).

Only F&O employees need a work order.

   
 

Service Request for Computer/Printer Hardware

If you would like to submit a service request with F&O for the following computer problems-software, hardware issues, printer problems, etc…or any computer problem, please follow the URL and the instruction below, to input your request.

  1. Choose “Computer Services,” (see yellow highlighted area).

 


Choice your option from the pull down menu; “Computer/Printer,” “Move Computer/Printer,” or “Other,” based on the type of assistance you are requesting.  

  1. (The yellow highlighted areas are of John Bui’s (F&O) group. Do not click on the “Computer Help Desk,” unless you are requesting the HelpLine to set-up your service request which can only service computer software problems.”


  1. Fill out all the required fields to submit for service.  You may request for a particular technicians to do the job in the description of work section.

 

  1. You will receive verification your service request has been submitted and three other options to choose or close request.
