  • Six major US Materials User Facilities are located at ORNL:
   
  1. Spallation Neutron Source
  2. Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences
  3. HFIR Center for Neutron Scattering
  4. High Temperature Materials Laboratory (64,500 sq ft building with 6 users centers (material analysis, mechanical characterization, diffraction, thermophysical properties, residual stress, machining, inspection & tribology)
  5. SHared Research Equipment (SHaRE) Facility (Microanalytical equipment (electron microscopes, 3-D atom probe, nanoindenter)
