CFCC Composites Code - An Overview

MSC's CFCC Composites Code starts with the input of MSC- or user-supplied constituent (fiber and matrix), layer or composite property descriptions. The code allows prediction of composite properties from both constituent and layer properties and layer properties from constituent properties. The resulting composite material may be a simple laminate or a more complex N-D material. Based on this composite material, strengths can be computed and thermo-mechanical loads may be applied and failure modeling can be performed. Currently, undamaged property/stress predictions can be performed for uni-directional layers, multi-ply laminates and N-D composites while damage modeling can be perfromed for uni-directional and cross-ply composites under genralized in-plane loads.
