This task
is responsible for managing the program to ensure that the overall objectives
are achieved.
The
management responsibilities include three major activities:
- program
planning and resource allocation;
- program
monitoring and control; and
- documentation
and technology transfer.
Program planning
and resource allocation includes:
- developing
and preparing annual budgetary proposals and;
- issuing
and administrating subcontracts to other contractors and consultants
for specialized talents not available at Oak Ridge National Laboratory
(ORNL) or that supplement those at ORNL.
Program monitoring
and control includes:
- monitoring
and controlling the project through an earned-value, project-management
system;
- ensuring
that quality assurance (QA) requirements are satisfied; and
- issuing
monthly management reports.
Documentation
and technology transfer includes:
- participating
in appropriate codes and standards committees;
- preparing
briefings for the NRC;
- coordinating
NRC and internal ORNL review activities;
- coordinating
domestic and foreign information exchanges approved by NRC; and
- documenting
the activities of the program through letter and NUREG reports.
