Dr. Jun Qu is a R&D staff of the Materials Science & Technology Division at ORNL. He earned his Ph.D. (2002) and M.S. (1999) in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University and Iowa State University, respectively. He also holds a M.S. and B.S. in Precision Instrument Engineering from Tianjin University, P.R. China. His present research interests are focused on tribological behavior of advanced materials and lubricants, particularly friction and wear issues associated with combustion engines and brake systems. He has more than 30 publications on peer-reviewed journals or conference proceedings.
