POLYMER MATRIX COMPOSITES GROUP
Staff

Our mission is to conduct research and development, characterization and application of composite material systems, processes and related technologies.

Our greatest strength is the combined experience of our people in composite technologies and the resources directly available to us at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

Composites research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory has led to significant breakthroughs in the development of materials for lightweight pressure vessels, flywheel energy storage systems, processing technology for thick-wall structures, rapid curing processes, nondestructive evaluation methods, and the design and manufacture of large composite structures able to withstand very high compressive loads.
