The Spot Heater

The spot heater makes use of a 750 W tungsten-halogen quartz lamp and an ellipsoidal reflector to project radiant energy to the reflectorÕs external focal point. The heater is designed for continuous operation at maximum output. The spot heater can be utilized as an inexpensive means of putting heat into small areas as needed. A retractable spot heater used to preheat parts prior to friction welding is shown below.
